【前回の続き】【第1話のスクリプトと和訳・解説】ポケモンで英語の勉強！懐かしい無印第1話編その３

Hello there! NAです！

今日はいつものボランティアにたまたまスカートをはいていったのですが、

「Hi! Good morning!」と会う人に声をかけるたびに

「You look beautiful!」「You are so cute today!」「You look wonderful!」「I like your skirt!」「I like your dress!」…

普段のジーパン姿がそんなに可愛くなかったか、というくらいに、日本でもしょっちゅうはいていたごく普通のスカートをはくだけで老若男女からお褒めの言葉の嵐。

文化の違いってすごい。日本じゃ絶対ないなあと思いました。

朝からぐったりしてたけどちょっと元気をもらいました。（笑）

さて今回もポケモン1話の続きです！

サトシとピカチュウが旅立ったところから1話の最後まで♩

しゃべるのがほぼサトシのみで一塊がでかくなってますがご了承くださいまし。

今回出てくる固有名詞は最後にまとめました！

Ash: Pikachu, are you gonna be like this the whole way? Is it because you don't like me? Well, I like you a lot. And since you're the Pokémon I'm training, don't you think you could be a little nicer and just open your mouth and tell me what's wrong? Uh, that's not exactly what I meant. Is your name all you can say? Well, then, you’re just like all Pokémon, and you should act like one, and get inside the Pokéball -- just like it says in the Pokédex.

サトシ:ピカチュウ、こんな感じでずっと行くつもり？俺が嫌いだから？うーん、俺は君が好きだよ。君は俺のポケモンなんだからちょっと優しくなって、とりあえず口開けて何があるのか教えてくれよ。あー、そういう意味じゃないんだけど。名前しか言えないのか？うーん、じゃあ、他のポケモンと同じなんだから、ポケモンらしくモンスターボールに入ったら？ポケモン図鑑が言ってるようにさ。

Pokédex : While being trained, a Pokémon usually stays inside it's Pokéball.

ポケモン図鑑:トレーニング中はポケモンは普通モンスターボールの中に入っている。

Ash: You see?

サトシ:ほらね？

Pokédex : However, they are many exceptions: Some Pokémon hate being confined.

ポケモン図鑑:しかし、例外もたくさんある。閉じ込められるのが嫌いなポケモンもいる。

Ash: Ok, then, this ought to make things better. And I'll get rid of these. How's that? Still not good enough? A Pidgey.

サトシ:分かった、じゃあ、こうしたほうがいいな。これも外す。どうだ？まだ納得いかない？あ、ポッポだ！

Pokédex : Pidgey is a Flying Pokémon. Among all the Flying Pokémon, it is the gentlest and easiest to capture. A perfect target for the beginning Pokémon Trainer to test his Pokémon's skills.

ポケモン図鑑: ポッポは飛行ポケモン。飛行ポケモンのなかで最も穏やかで捕まえやすい。初心者トレーナーの腕試しに最適なターゲット。

Ash: This is great. It's our lucky day. Pikachu, go get it. Aren't you ever gonna listen to me? But why not? Ok, I get the message. I don't want your help or need it. I can get that thing all by myself. All right, I pledged to get all the Pokémon in the world. Now I'm ready to take the next step to be the number one Pokémon Master. Enjoy your last moments of freedom, Pidgey, 'cause you’re mine. Pokéball, go! I did it. Huh? Aww, I blew it.

サトシ:よし、今日は俺たちツイてるぜ。ピカチュウ、いけ。ずっと俺の言うこと聞かないつもり？でもなんでだよ？いいよ、分かった。お前の助けなんか欲しくないし必要もない。あいつは俺だけの力でゲットするぜ。よし、俺は世界中のポケモンを全部捕まえることをここに約束する。今、俺は世界一のポケモンマスターになるための次の一歩を踏み出すんだ。最後の自由時間を楽しむんだな、ポッポ、お前は俺のものになるんだから。いけ、モンスターボール！やった。あれ？あー、逃しちゃった。

Pokédex : To capture a Pokémon, you usually have your own Pokémon battle with the other.

ポケモン図鑑:ポケモンを捕まえるには、通常自分のポケモンを相手と戦わせる。

Ash: Now he tells me. But I have to do everything myself! Wait, I’ve got an idea. Ok... just be quiet... there's nothing to be afraid of. Hi, little friend... Sorry, buddy! Huh, what happened?

サトシ:今更かよ。でも自分でやるしかないんだ！まてよ、いいこと思いついた。よーし、静かに…何にも怖いことないぞ。やぁ…ごめんな！あれ？どうなったんだ？

Pokédex : Pidgey's Gust power creates tornadoes. It also has a Sand Attack.

ポケモン図鑑:ポッポの”かぜおこし”は竜巻を作る。このポッポは”すなかけ”も使える。

Ash: Sand?! Guess it's not my lucky day. Hey! Get out of there.

サトシ:砂？ツイてなんかなかったみたいだな。おい！そこから離れろ。

Pokédex : A Forest Pokémon, Rattata -- it likes cheese, nuts, fruits, and berries.

ポケモン図鑑:森ポケモン、コラッタ。チーズ、ナッツ、きのみやベリーが好き。

Ash: Yeah, but this isn't a forest, it's an open field.

ポケモン図鑑:ふーん、けどここ森じゃなくて原っぱだけど。

Pokédex : It also comes out into open fields to steal food from stupid travelers.

ポケモン図鑑:マヌケな旅人から食べ物を盗むために原っぱにも出て来る。

Ash: That means I... I'm stupid? Hmm? I'll get you this time. I got it. I wonder what that is.

サトシ:それって、俺がマヌケってこと？あぁ？今回こそ捕まえてやるぜ。やった。あれ、なんだ？

Pokédex : Unlike Pidgey, Spearow has a terrible attitude. It is very wild and will sometimes attack other Pokémon and humans.

ポケモン図鑑:ポッポとは違い、オニスズメは態度が悪い。とても凶暴で時には他のポケモンや人間を攻撃する。

Ash: Hey, leave Pikachu alone! It didn't throw the rock!

サトシ:おい、ピカチュウから離れろ！石を投げたのはピカチュウじゃない！

Pokédex : Wild Pokémon tend to be jealous of human-trained Pokémon.

ポケモン図鑑:野生のポケモンは人に連れられているポケモンに嫉妬する傾向がある。

Ash: Pikachu! Uh, you got it! Uh-oh! Uhh, should we run? Don't worry, Pikachu, no matter what, I'll save you. Don't run ahead. I said I'd protect -- Ow! Leave it alone, Spearows! Pikachu! Well, here we go!

サトシ:ピカチュウ！あぁ、やったな！うわ！あぁ、走るか？大丈夫だ、ピカチュウ、何があっても俺が守るから。俺より先に行くなよ、守るって言っ… あぁ！ピカチュウを離せ、オニスズメ！ピカチュウ！よし、いくぜ！

Misty: Oh! Oh! Hey, I got a bite! Oh, wow, I really think this could be a big one! Nah, it's just a kid. Oh and a Pokémon. Oh, are you ok?

カスミ:よし！やった、ひいてる！わぁ、これは大物かもしれないわ！なんだ、ただの子供か。あら、ポケモンも！あら、大丈夫？

Ash: Yeah, I'm ok.

サトシ:あぁ、大丈夫。

Misty: Not you! Look what you’ve done to that poor little thing. Is it breathing?

カスミ:あんたじゃないわよ！この子に何したの。息してる？

Ash: I, I... I think so.

サトシ:た、多分…。

Misty: Well, just don’t sit there, it needs a doctor right away. There's a medical center not to far from here. You've got to get moving now!

カスミ:ねぇ、ただ座ってないで、この子をお医者さんに今すぐ見せないと！ここからそう遠くないところに医療施設があるわ。今すぐ動き出さないと！

Ash: You mean a hospital?

サトシ:病院てこと？

Misty: Yes, for Pokémon.

カスミ:そうよ、ポケモンのね。

Ash: Um, can you tell me, which way do I go?

サトシ:えっと、どっち行けばいいか教えてくれる？

Misty: That way.

カスミ:あっちよ。

Ash: They're coming back! Run!

サトシ:あいつらまた追ってきた！走れ！

Misty: Hey, what are you doing?

カスミ:ちょっと、何してるのよ？

Ash: I'm borrowing this!

サトシ:これ借りるね！

Misty: Wait, hey, that's my bike!

カスミ:待って、ねえ、私の自転車！

Ash: I'll give it back someday!

サトシ:いつか返すから！

Misty: Oh, you...

カスミ:あいつ…

Ash: Just hang on now, Pikachu, we're almost there. Pikachu! Pikachu... this can't happen. Pikachu, get inside. I know you're afraid of going in there, but if you're inside, maybe I can save you. Please, Pikachu, please listen to me and go inside. After that, then -- After that, just trust me! Spearows, do you know who I am? I’m Ash, from the Town of Pallet. I'm destined to be the world's number one Pokémon Master. I can't be defeated by the likes of you. I'm going to capture and defeat you all! You hear me? Pikachu, go inside the Pokéball, it's the only way! Come and get me! We'll, we beat 'em. What's that?

サトシ:頑張れピカチュウ、もうすぐだからな。ピカチュウ！ピカチュウ…こんなこと起こっていいはずない。ピカチュウ、中に入るんだ。モンスターボールに入るのが嫌いなのは分かってる、でもこの中にいればお前を助けられるかもしれないんだ。お願いだピカチュウ、お願いだから俺の言うことを聞いてボールに入ってくれ。あとは、あとはただ俺を信じてくれ！オニスズメ、俺が誰だか分かっているのか？俺はマサラタウンのサトシ。世界一のポケモンマスターになるんだ。お前らなんかに負けるはずない。お前ら全部捕まえて倒してやる！聞こえるか？ピカチュウ、モンスターボールに入れ、それしか方法がないんだ！かかってこい！俺ら、あいつらを倒したんだな。なんだあれ？

ポケモン図鑑:データなし。未だに正体のわからないポケモンもいる。
